Autonomous Drilling Systems - Remote Operations & Automated Functions

This course provides a detailed explanation of the steps involved in operating drills remotely, including procedures for interventions using tele remote control.

Enrollment in this course is by invitation only
This course introduces Remote Operations and Automated Functions within Autonomous drilling environments, focusing on the systems and technologies that enable safe and efficient remote machine control.
Learners will gain an understanding of the Epiroc Rig Control System (RCS) and the Teleremote Operator Station, including their components, interfaces, and operational capabilities used to manage drilling activities from a remote location.
Participants will learn how to perform essential remote operational tasks such as machine allocation, pre-start routines, and Drill Plan management using RCS tools.
The course also covers the RCS TUM code system and the HP GPS Hole Navigation System, providing insight into how positioning data, operational codes, and system configurations support accurate drilling execution and operational control.
The training further explores automated drilling functions designed to improve productivity and consistency.
You will examine Auto Level operations and Auto Drill functionality, including operator responsibilities for monitoring performance, maintaining drilling efficiency, and responding appropriately to system conditions. By completing this course, you will understand how remote control technologies and automation features work together to support reliable, efficient, and optimized Autonomous drilling operations.
